Bump it!
Quality of LifeWhen buyers are looking to relocate to the Prescott area, one of the deciding factors is the four seasons we have to offer. Many of you have made that same decision. Unlike numerous places throughout the United States, we offer the true and definable seasons of the year. Compared to the deserts of Southern Arizona we offer a summer where breaking the 100° mark seldom happens, and like many areas in the country we have the fall, leaf color changes that attract people from all over. Our spring is full of vibrant colors, with green forests and rolling green grassland vistas. These three seasons provide us the quality of life that so many seek, and last night showed us that we are in the fourth season; WINTER. With our first winter storm fast approaching next week it gives us a good chance to reflect on what makes our area a wonderful place to live. In real estate, quality of life is among the top three items buyers consider when looking to buy. Whether you are ready to retire, or just beginning your professional life, the quad city area offers a top notch quality of life. Downtown Prescott, with the Courthouse square - the crown jewel of our area as many have described it - will be the focal point of our winter quality of life for the next several weeks. The Courthouse lighting, the Christmas parade, Acker Music night, and the events in Prescott Valley like the Valley of Lights and the Hometown Chino Christmas are just a few of the many events that attract visitors to our area. For our home sellers these visitors are potential buyers, people who share our love of small town community as we celebrate events like Christmas. As winter comes upon us we have read the many columns in the eNews preparing us for the season. Articles that tell us how to protect our homes in ways like insulating the pipes, and prepare to attract buyers to your home by staging and de-cluttering. It comes to mind that a large portion of you moved here from somewhere else because you like what this area has to offer. It is important for you to remember what brought you here because these are many of the reasons that a potential buyer may move here. With 2332 homes for sale in our area, it is important that we capitalize on the opportunity. With a market that is driven by local buyers, retirees, relocations, and job opportunities that now seem rather scarce; we look to the future and realize how important it is to create industry in our community. Industry is needed to provide jobs for our young folks who currently are forced to look for work elsewhere and for those looking to relocate to a place they can call home. And there are organizations like the Chino Valley Economic Development Organization and the Prescott Valley Economic Development Foundation working diligently to bring these industries and opportunities to our area. These opportunities will benefit all of us, whether working or retired. As a Prescott resident first and a real estate professional second, I appreciate what our community has to offer and realize that growth is inevitable. I recently spoke to someone who said we need to STOP growth, I kindly asked how many children do you have, they responded by saying they have three. I reminded them that they have contributed to growth. I believe and look forward to working on smart and sustainable growth. Our community has so much to offer both in current and future opportunities and a quality of life that is hard to find. I wish all of you happy holidays and a wonderful New Year and look forward to working together as we plan for growth in a smart way. Be sure to tune in to Real Estate Weekly on KQNA 1130am, 99.9FM and live on the web at KQNA.com from 7-8AM every Saturday as we talk about real estate and what makes our community a great place to live.
