sellers_davisNichlos Sellers, age 36, and William Edward Davis, Jr., age 21, both of Phoenix, plead guilty on Thursday to numerous felonies stemming from a home invasion and shooting that occurred in the evening of July 28, 2009.

On that date, the two defendants first tried to collect a drug debt from a home in Chino Valley, using a handgun and damaging his door. The defendants next approached the residence of Seller’s ex in-laws in Chino Valley. There, Sellers, armed with a handgun, entered the home where the victims lay sleeping. Once inside, Sellers stabbed the first victim in the chest and shot the second victim in the face. Both defendants fled the scene in the victims’ vehicle, stopping at an apartment complex where they switched the license plate with another car in the parking lot.

A high speed chase ensured on Fain Road. At a point before Lakeshore Drive, Sellers pulled over and David jumped out and was quickly apprehended. Sellers continued down Fain Road with police vehicles, displaying lights and sirens, in pursuit. Sellers turned off his headlights and continued to drive at speeds in excess of 120 mph, pursued by an ever growing number of police cars. Eventually, just short of Highway 69, Sellers rolled the car totaling it. The victims were both immediately transported to medical facilities where they received emergency care and have both survived.

Sellers and Davis plead guilty to 2 counts of Attempted First Degree Premeditated Murder and numerous other felonies. They also plead guilty to Endangerment for endangering motorist as they sped down the highway.

Sellers is scheduled to be sentenced on February 22, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. and Davis will be sentenced on February 26, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. before the Honorable William T. Kiger of the Yavapai County Superior Court.
