Bump it!
Tonight the Town Council is going to be working with staff to set fiscal year 2010/2011 budget priorities, including revenue and expenditures. It could end up being a very significant meeting because as the staff points out the projected income, council will offer a lot of direction regarding their priorities and concerns. This evening will largely set the course for the initial budget presentation to council early next year. The Council will also be receiving an unaudited update regarding their general funds, which likely will offer opportunities for substantive discussion as to the current state of affairs. Here's how the single agenda item reads: Presentation by staff and discussion regarding budget matters, including a recap of the fiscal year 2008-2009 unaudited General Fund status; overview of budget concepts, development, policies, and procedures; and initial planning and strategies for developing the 2010-2011 budget. So, let's break that down - Presentation by staff and discussion regarding budget matters:
Charlie Arnold, President of the Chamber of Commerce, said he plans to be at this meeting himself, noting, "I think that tonight's council meeting will prove to be very significant to the future of Chino Valley, and I'm hoping that folks are there to provide input, ideas and concerns from the community."

The Chino Valley Town Council meeting should be a short one, if you look at the fact that they have only one agenda item. But, when you pull that agenda item apart, it could easily end up taking a great deal of time.
