Four Unhurt in Rollover Accident

According to Firefighter and Paramedic Jeff Jones the Prescott Fire Department received a 911 call at about 7:30am on April 15th regarding a possible veichle that had rolled over in the 5100 block of Arrowhead Drive in the Highland Pines of Prescott. Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters found a pickup truck that was over on its side in a ditch with two people inside while the children were able to climb out safe, the release stated. Fire crews helped the parents out of the truck and all left the scene unhurt as the department credits the family wearing seatbelts as the difference, according to the release.

Jessie Berner Named Acting Forest Supervisor in Prescott National Forest

Jessie Berner began serving as Acting Forest Supervisor of the Prescott National Forest on Monday, according to a release. It stated Berner comes to the area from the pacific northwest were she served as a District Ranger on the Rouge River Skskiyou National Forest. The former Forest Supervisor Teresa Chase retired on March 31st.

Prescott Fire Responds to Seven Wildland Fires in One Day

It was a wild day for the Fire Department on Thursday as Fire Marshal Don Devendorf announced seven fires broke out with the largest being twenty feet by two-hundred feet. The Department mentioned even though the area had a wet winter, grasses dry out enough to burn and with wind and higher temperatures. The release also stated these fires are an indication that grasses are ready to ignite and residents should take precaution with open fires and other possible fire causing items such as tire chains.

Humboldt Elementary Students Publish Their Own Books

Humboldt Elementary students proudly presented their own written and published books to family, friends and the community on Wednesday April 12th. The students began in January and had to think of a superhero main character, their power, a nemesis as well as draw all of the illustrations. After rounds of editing, each student received their book for free due to a donation from the Yavapai County Education Foundation.

Fans Come Out to See NAZ Suns in Inaugural Season

After being announced about a year ago that the Phoenix Suns’ D-League Affiliate Bakersfield Jam would relocate to Prescott Valley and become the Northern Arizona Suns, the team completed it’s inaugural season with a 22-28 record and a third place finish. The NAZ Suns averaged just over 1,600 fans a game with no game having less than 1,000 people attend. Check out the full story and a recap video on PrescottValleyeNews.com
