The Arizona Sundogs had 2 of its streaks snapped last night. Arizona was in South Dakota to take on the Rapid City Rush. Forward Konrad Reeder scored to give the Sundogs an early 1 to nothing lead. Rapid City answered back to tie the game, and although forward Jason Visser had a chance to extend Arizona's lead to 2, Rush goalie Danny Battochio denied the scoring chance. In the second period, the Rush scored again for the lead. Forward Linus Fagemo thought he had tied the game at 2, but play continued and Rapid City extended its lead to 2 goals. With just over 5 minutes left to play, the Rush scored once more for the 4 to 1 win. This victory put an end to the Sundogs' 5 game road win streak and the team's stretch of 13 consecutive 1 goal games. Next up for Arizona is the Colorado Eagles at 7:05 tomorrow night. All the live action can be heard on the official radio home for Sundogs hockey, Cattle Country 94.3 FM KDDL or online at cattlecountryradio.com.

The final walkthrough took place last Friday and the project was accepted by the City of Prescott. Officials note both projects were completed ahead of schedule and under budget.
The Arizona Department of Transportation is monitoring 2 slopes on southbound Interstate 17. Officials note heavy rains over the past month have saturated the slopes between Sunset Point and Black Canyon City and increased the potential of rocks falling onto the roadway. ADOT crews and equipment are on site and engineers are assessing the slopes to determine the steps needed to protect drivers who use this highway between Flagstaff and metro Phoenix. A landslide could require closure of both southbound I-17 lanes. At this time, northbound I-17 is unaffected.
The Prescott National Forest will host an open house from 6 to 8 tonight. This meeting will give members of the public an opportunity to review and comment on information contained in the Environmental Impact Statement on Vegetation Management Treatments on the Bradshaw Ranger District. Forest personnel will be present to answer questions on the statement, which identifies and discloses the environmental effects of vegetative treatments. These treatments are designed to improve the resiliency of fire adapted ecosystems while simultaneously reducing hazardous fuels that pose a threat to life and property. The project encompasses more than 55 thousand acres of National Forest System land. The open house will be held at the Mackin Building at 840 Rodeo Drive in Prescott.
The Chino Valley Town Council will consider tabling action on a Water Sustainability and Conservation Concept Paper at 6 tonight. The concept indicates that the Town has been in the process of acquiring water rights in the Big Chino Sub-basin by purchasing historically irrigated acres and converting them to a water right that can eventually used by the Town and its residents for domestic purposes. With Council approval, further consideration of the proposal in its current form would be tabled indefinitely. Another item up for consideration is an intergovernmental agreement with the Arizona Game and Fish Department for development and improvement of the Police Department's shooting range. The meeting will be held at the Town Senior Center on Butterfield Road.
