carstuckThe Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) has released the incident statistics for Yavapai County from last Monday, January 18, through Friday, January 22, 2010. Between the rain and snow that were received, DPS officers were kept busy during the storms.

Officers provided assistance to motorists 52 times in the five days, and reported 72 slide-offs. According to the report, "Motorist Assist and Slide Off can be used interchangeably, basically it’s an officer providing assistance to a motorist, i.e. broken down, pulling them out of the median or shoulder back onto the roadway or calling a tow truck."

There were 35 incidents of crashes consisting of property damage, and 6 injury crashes. Thankfully, no fatality accidents occurred during this time period in Yavapai County.

All in all, DPS reports there were 299 calls for service, which, "...include the above incidents but do not include officer initiated traffic stops."
