PRESCOTT, Tuesday, February 07, 2012 – Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne is offering consumer services to Prescott/Prescott Valleyresidents at the Attorney General’s Community Outreach and Education Crime, Fraud and Victim Resource Center. The center is located at Prescott Community Adult Center, 1280B E. Rosser and is open Mondays from 10:00am to 12:00pm.
“It is very important that consumers are well-informed, and these offices located throughout the state are a vital link in ensuring people get the information they need” Horne said. “Consumer scams can occur to anyone at any time. It is crucial that people are aware of the dangers posed by consumer predators and are prepared to fight back.”
The Prescott’s office is staffed by volunteers who assist people in filing a consumer complaint, providing crime prevention tips and materials, answering general questions about the Attorney General’s Office, and making referrals to other agencies and organizations.
Among the matters handled at these offices are: identity theft; senior issues; car buying; telemarketing, home repair and other scams; employment and disability questions; housing discrimination and other issues.
