Last night at approximately 6:30 PM, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a car that drove through the front of the Circle K in the Village of Oak Creek, 6051 Highway 79.

A 73 year old female driver, who resides on Sugarloaf Road in Sedona, pulled into a space in front of the store. She was almost stopped when her foot slipped onto the accelerator pedal. She drove over the concrete parking space bumper, through the front window and to the right of the front doors. No customers were near the window when she drove into the building. No one in the building was injured and the driver was also not injured.

The driver did not show any signs of impairment from either alcohol or a physical ailment. Several shelves, fixtures, and dispensing machines were damaged. Fortunately, the car drove directly through the window frame without hitting any structural supports. The driver was not cited.
