Community Development Block Grant funding will be the subject of 2 meetings in Prescott tomorrow. At 2 tomorrow, the Citizens Advisory Committee on these grants will be discussing the Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report for the grant funding.  This report includes a summary of how the funds have been used and explanations on managing the process, citizen participation and changes in program objectives.  Following that meeting, the Committee will discuss an amendment to reallocate 2012 funding.  Back in April, City Council members approved the amendment for 45 thousand dollars from Project Aware to the Dexter neighborhood, with the money being used for such improvements as sidewalks and street lighting.  The public comment period on the amendment runs through next Tuesday.  Both meetings will be held in Council chambers on South Cortez Street.

If you live in Prescott Valley’s District 6, you can get some important information at 6:30 tonight. As part of its ongoing Cop Chat series, Corporal Michael Williams is scheduled to discuss that District, which encompasses business and residential areas north of Highway 89A.  This area includes the Viewpoint, Pronghorn Ranch and Mingus West subdivisions and the Yavapai County Fairgrounds.  Cop Chat allows residents to hear presentations on various topics on the 3rd Tuesday of every month and there is an opportunity to ask questions.  For more information, go online to pvaz.net, click on the “Your Government” tab, then “Departments” and “Police.”  Cop Chat will be held at the Library’s Crystal Meeting Room on Civic Circle.  It is free and open to the public. 

A Prescott Valley woman has died following a motorcycle accident near the Town of Seligman.  Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Dwight D’Evelyn explains the accident occurred Saturday morning on Crookton Road when the lead motorcycle lost control. D’evelyn describes what the injuries involved.

Riders on 2 other motorcycles were able to avoid the collision and stopped to render aid. The County Medical Examiner will be determining Cathy Pizzullo’s exact cause of death. 

Travel is back to normal on Highway 89 after an overturned semi-truck caused traffic tie-ups.  Chino Valley Police Commander Mark Garcia explains the accident occurred after 11 yesterday morning. As a result, 89 was closed to southbound traffic at the roundabout and detoured to Outer Loop Road while clean up took place.  The roadway was reopened that afternoon.  There were no injuries and the driver has been issued a citation for speed greater than what is posted.
