An alleged suspect who shot at a family's vehicle is facing 4 counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Last Saturday at around 1:30, the family of 4 was traveling in the Bridge Canyon area west of Seligman. They noticed a man in a truck behind them honking his horn. The dad pulled over to see what was going on. When the man in the second vehicle got out of his truck, the victim noticed he was holding a handgun. The suspect began shooting at the vehicle and the victim pulled away. Yavapai Silent Witness Director Steve Skurja explains there were concerns about this suspect not being located right away. Yesterday Yavapai County Sheriff's Office SWAT team members served a search warrant at 48 year old William Martin's Bridge Canyon Estates home. Martin was arrested without incident and several firearms were recovered. The investigation is ongoing.

The Prescott Valley Town Council is getting ready to approve a resolution supporting the Home Rule option. Last night, Council held a public hearing on the Alternative Expenditure Limitation. Management Services Director Bill Kauppi explains this option allows cities and towns to set their own budgets, rather than using a state formula. Kauppi explains why the hearings are being conducted. The second hearing will be held in Council chambers on November 1st. Following any public comments that are received, Council may approve a resolution in support of the extension. Voters will decide on Home Rule in March 2013.

The Central Yavapai Fire District may make a decision as to who it wants to provide legal services. Fire Chief Paul Nies explains Board members will be interviewing 4 firms that are interested in representing the District. The Prescott firm of Boyle, Pecharich, Cline, Whittington and Stallings currently provides legal services and they would like to continue to do so. Nies says the interviews are part of a Request for Qualifications process. The Board will conduct the interviews during a special session at 9:30 Monday morning. A decision on legal services could be made during the meeting, which will be held in the District Training Center on East Valley Road in Prescott Valley.

Little ghosts and goblins will be in Prescott's downtown area looking for treats, but not tricks. The City is hosting its 5th annual Pumpkin Patch and Carnival from 11 to 3 tomorrow. During a live appearance on Wednesday's Talk of the Town on KQNA 1130 AM and 99.9 FM, Special Events Coordinator Becky Karcie explained there is a 5 dollar admission charge for this event. Karcie says there will be other attractions besides the carnival games. At 11:30, there will be spooktacular costume contests with prizes for scariest, funniest and best homemade in 3 different ages groups.

Also this weekend, the Prescott Ghost Talk will take place at 6 and 7:30 tonight and tomorrow night. This event will be held at the Prescott Center for the Arts at the corner of Marina and Willis Streets in Prescott. During a live appearance on Tuesday's Q and A with Sandy Moss on KQNA, Center spokesman Cason Murphy described what will be taking place during this event. Tina Blake with the West Yavapai Guidance Clinic Foundation says this event is a fundraiser. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased at the Center Box Office at the corner of Marina and Willis Streets.
