Ann Kirkpatrick is apparently gearing up for another election campaign.

akirkpatrick_closeupDr. Paul Gosar hasn't even been in office for three months, and already Ann Kirkpatrick is publicly planning to run against him in 2012, according to Roll Call.

Kirkpatrick, who voted for the unpopular Health Care bill that then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi presented to the House, is accusing Gosar of "toeing the party line rather than serving the district," Roll Call reports. "The real key for me is the number of people who I’ve been hearing from in the district — and this is Democrats, independents, Republicans and even folks who are actively involved in the ‘tea party’ — that they feel he is deeply out-of-touch with the district."

Not surprisingly, the National Republican Congressional Committee is accusing Kirkpatrick of adhering too closely to the Democratic agenda, as they write in an email dated March 30, 2011, "Kirkpatrick needs to be reminded that she lost her seat after voting in lock step with Nancy Pelosi, despite claiming to be a moderate Democrat. Kirkpatrick’s votes for a trillion dollar government takeover of healthcare and an $800 billion failed stimulus clearly didn’t resonate with Arizona voters last fall and these same voters won’t forget about her loyalties to Nancy Pelosi in 2012."

Gosar's campaign responded quickly to the news that Kirkpatrick has set her sights on his Congressional seat in an email of their own. "In making her announcement she stated that since President Obama will be on the ballot she believes more Democrats will turn out to vote for her this time around. Is an Obama-Kirkpatrick government what we really want to return America to? The answer is clearly no."

Brian Powly, who sent out that Gosar campaign response, continued, "Since being in office less than 3 months, Dr. Paul Gosar's votes would save the American people nearly $900,000,000,000 this year if they were enacted into law. And he is only getting started."
