PRELIMINARY INFORMATION – At approximately 4:30 AM this morning, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a reported shooting in the 2800 block of West Hilltop Road, Chino Valley. Upon arrival, deputies detained several people who were inside the home and discovered a 23-year-old man had been shot.

After EMS personnel treated the victim, he was airlifted to a Phoenix Hospital where he remains this morning. The most recent information indicates his injuries are not life threatening.

YCSO detectives were called to the scene and are currently investigating the incident. Detectives have a person of interest detained. Further details, including victim identification, will likely be available late this afternoon.
