Sundogs and Brahmas Played Fifth Straight One-Goal Game

PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ – Kevin Petovello’s goal in the seventh round of the shootout proved to be the winner as the Arizona Sundogs snapped a seven-game winless skid on Friday night with a 2-1 win over the Texas Brahmas.

Scott Reid stopped Chad Woollard in the bottom of the seventh round to seal the win for the Sundogs (10-16-6). He finished with 32 saves on the night for his eighth win of the season.

The only goals in regulation came on first period goals as Jim Burichin gave Texas (14-11-7) a 1-0 lead five minutes into the game before Craig Macdonald tied things with less than two minutes to play.

Steve Silverthorn took the loss for the Brahmas stopping 38.

Arizona finished 0-for-4 on the power play. Texas went 0-for-3.

The contest was the fifth straight between the Sundogs and Brahmas that was decided by a goal.

The Sundogs and Brahmas hook up again on Saturday at Tim’s Toyota Center for their final meeting of the regular season. Game time is set for 7:05 PM MST.
