Prescott Gateway Mall: To Be Centerpiece of Community

PRESCOTT – The enhancement of the Prescott Gateway Mall (PGM) as a retail hub and gathering place for the Quad Cities is underway by a new local management team supported by Chicago-based Urban Retail Properties, LLC.

The mall welcomes Charles Sullivan as General Manager and Sue Marceau as Marketing Manager. Both Sullivan and Marceau have strong family ties to the local community and will be joining the current mall teams of Ken Stephenson, Operations Manager for nearly seven years; Art Rice, Project Manager, Control Facility Support, for six years, and Jason Wellman, Security Supervisor, Allied Barton, for four years. Several of PGM’s guest services, security and housekeeping personnel have been working at the mall since it opened and continue to take pride in property knowledge, guest service expertise, and enhancing the shopping experience.

Sullivan recently arrived in Prescott after most recently serving as Regional Manager in Southern California for the past four-plus years. He has been in the shopping center management industry for more than 30 years, managing multiple-type properties, including regional enclosed malls similar to Prescott Gateway Mall. He had previously worked for Urban Retail Properties in Southern California managing Santa Ana Main Place and Valencia Towne Centre. He brings significant experience and expertise in both management and leasing and is very excited to be in Prescott and to take on the opportunities at Prescott Gateway Mall. He has been a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers for 27 years and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Accounting from Seattle, WA.

Marceau, who earned her MBA in 1994 from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, has initiated marketing, consulting, property management and real estate ventures since arriving in Prescott in 2001. Most recently, she worked at the Prescott Chamber of Commerce in a role encompassing annual report preparation, monthly newsletter, quarterly print publications, media releases, web posting and email campaigns, event planning, and creation of collaborative member acquisition and retention programs. Near-term client projects have centered on website development, internet marketing and foreign language translation. During her corporate career, Marceau was reporter/editor on daily newspapers and became a corporate media spokesperson before expanding into advertising, trade shows, proposal writing, sales channels and global business development. She holds an Arizona real estate salesperson license and is brokered under Windermere Real Estate Northern Arizona.

“Our new team is very excited about the potential for once again making the Prescott Gateway Mall a centerpiece of the community,” Sullivan said. “We encourage local patrons and citizens to stop by and take a new look at what we have to offer, as we build added value to life in Prescott, Prescott Valley, Chino Valley, Dewey-Humboldt and beyond. Our management staff now is full-time, and we are open to ideas, partnerships and alliances.”

As marketing manager, Marceau is charged with creating and implementing initiatives to drive traffic and bring new tenants to the property. Currently, she is developing activities for the remainder of 2012, including events for Halloween and the retail-intensive Christmas season, and the 2013 retail business cycle.
