CV District seeks replacement for resigning Board member.

Yavapai County School Superintendent Tim Carter announced Friday that there is a vacancy on the Chino Valley School District Governing Board that needs to be filled. Dr. Jo Kelleher, a long-time member of the Board, has resigned due to relocating out of the district. 

People interested in serving on the Board, can send a letter of interest and a resume' to Carter. Eligible candidates must:

  • Be a registered voter
  • Be a citizen of the US 
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Possess their civil rights
  • Have continuously resided in the district for at least a year
  • Cannot be employed by the District, nor have a spouse employed by the District

Yavapai County School Superintendent Tim Carter has announced a vacancy on the Chino Valley Unified School District Governing Board. 

The opening was created due to the resignation of veteran Board Member Jo Kelleher, who is relocating out of the district. The vacancy will be effective upon the swearing in of a successor. The service that Mrs. Kelleher has provided to the School District over several years is greatly appreciated.

Candidates may include letters of recommendation or support if they wish. 

To be eligible to hold this seat a person must; be a registered voter (yet this office is considered non-partisan), be a citizen of the United States of America, be at least 18 years of age, possess their civil rights, have continually resided within the school district for at least one year immediately preceding taking office, and the candidate and their spouse cannot be employed by the district.

Deadline for receipt of letters of interest is Friday, December 19, 2013, at 5:00 p.m. Mr. Carter will interview finalists on December 22-23, 2014. The appointment should be announced no later than Friday, January 2, 2015 and be valid from that date through December 31, 2016.
