Friday’s four set match was a battle.

PRESCOTT, Ariz. -- After Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Ariz.) volleyball's first meeting with La Sierra University ended in a five-set comeback, the Eagles (18-5, 9-0 Cal Pac) led by Erin Clark (JR/Phoenix, Ariz.)'s 25 kills beat the Golden Eagles (14-8, 6-3 Cal Pac) in four sets in Prescott on Friday afternoon.

Clark started her day with nine kills in the first set and the Eagles needed all nine in order to get past LSU. The set teter-tottered as neither team seemed to be able to grasp the lead for long. Clark finished the set by killing the three of the last four points and netted the Eagles the first game.

Set two was very similar as both teams battled throughout. The Eagles were finally able to break free of a deadlock, when they rallied for four straight points, three of which came on Audrey Baldwin (SR/Santa Barbara, Calif.)'s service run. Baldwin's assist numbers were outsstanding yet again totalling 53 in the four set match.

LSU finally got their set in the third. The Golden Eagles led by Kiana Krumm's 19 kills were able to force a fourth set after nearly allowing the Eagles to comeback to win and get the sweep.

The final set started well for the Eagles as they jumped to a 9-4 lead. Julia Kjenstad (SO/Tacoma, Wash.) and Caylee Robalin (JR/El Paso, Texas)'s pressence was felt at the net all afternoon as the pair combined for nine blocks. Sharik Joseph (JR/San Diego, Calif.) killed the final point, one of her 11 on the day, and the Eagles escaped with a tight four-set victory.
