CV Red4Ed: What It Means For Parents

25 April 2018   Chino Valley Unified School District
It’s not a walk-out, exactly.

As reported in the news and on social media, Arizona Educators United has called for a teacher walkout on Thursday April 26th. District administration wants to let you know that all schools will be in session that day but there will be a 3 hour early release.

We are anticipating that a significant number of teachers will call in sick.  However, district administration is confident that with the teachers that do come to school along with substitutes and other district staff we can safely supervise students at school that day.

We understand that families need to make their own decision regarding whether to send students to school on that Thursday.  Any students that are absent that day will not be penalized as long as the absence is excused by a parent or guardian.  If you decide to keep your child home, we ask that you call your child’s school on Monday or Tuesday to excuse the absence.

More information will be sent home with students on Monday regarding field trips, athletic practices, and after school activities.  Also, please check our website, www.chinovalleyschools.com, and the district’s Facebook page, chinovalleyschoolsaz, for updates.

Updates for Thursday April 26th.
