Tragic Paulden Vehicle Accident Results in 2 Deaths

Collision Results in Multiple Fatalities

On 03/18/2019 at approximately 3:27 pm Chino Valley Police responded to a report of a two vehicle collision on State Route 89 just north of Old Highway 89. The collision tragically resulted in the death of two females. A 17 year old resident of Paulden, AZ and a 18 year old resident of Paulden, AZ. 

The vehicles involved were a white 1999 Jeep Cherokee and a black 1985 Toyota MR2. Both vehicles sustained extensive damage. Both occupants of the MR2 are deceased. The occupant of the Jeep was flown to Flagstaff Medical Center. The driver of the Jeep’s condition is unknown.

The investigation is still ongoing and no further details are available at this time. The Chino Valley Police Department has been unable to locate anyone who witnessed the accident happen. If anyone witnessed the accident, please call (928) 771-3260. 

State Route 89 was closed from 3:27 pm to 6:37 pm while the scene investigation was completed. We appreciate the cooperation and understanding of all motorists during this investigation.
