Drivers should plan for delays and allow extra travel time
The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for lane closures on north- and southbound State Route 89 between Paulden (milepost 338) and the junction with Interstate 40 (milepost 364) while ADOT crews complete fog seal work, which protects and extends the life of the pavement. Drivers could experience delays up to 30 minutes while SR 89 is reduced to one lane only.
The work is scheduled to occur from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, Wednesday, Sept. 18, and Thursday, Sept. 19.
- SR 89 will be narrowed to one lane.
- Flaggers and a pilot car will direct drivers through the work zone.
Drivers are asked to obey traffic control devices and use caution around construction personnel and equipment.
ADOT is working to preserve pavement conditions on several roadways this fall. To find out why this work is so important, and where other projects are scheduled to occur, visit the project webpage.
