I-17 Overnight Lane Closures

Plan for Interstate 17 overnight lane closures near New River and Black Canyon City beginning Monday, Sept. 16

Drivers should use caution and allow extra travel time

Drivers who travel Interstate 17 near New River and Black Canyon City should plan for overnight lane closures in both directions while ADOT crews are scheduled to complete fog seal work, which protects and extends the life of the pavement.

The following restrictions will occur Monday, Sept. 16, through Friday, Sept. 20, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.:

Monday, Sept. 16:

  • Northbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane (right lane closed) at New River between mileposts 232 and 239.
  • Southbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane (left lane closed) near New River between mileposts 239 and 232.

Tuesday, Sept. 17:

  • Northbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane (left lane closed) at New River between mileposts 232 and 239.
  • Southbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane (right lane closed) near New River between mileposts 239 and 232.

Wednesday, Sept. 18:

  • Northbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane (right lane closed) near Black Canyon City between mileposts 239 and 245.
  • Southbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane (left lane closed) at Black Canyon City between mileposts 245 and 239.

Thursday, Sept. 19:

  • Northbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane (left lane closed) near Black Canyon City between mileposts 239 and 245.
  • Southbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane (right lane closed) at Black Canyon City between mileposts 245 and 239.
