On Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at approximately 6:52 AM members of the Prescott Police Department and Prescott Fire Department responded to the intersection of State Route 89 and State Route 89 A in reference to an injury collision involving two vehicles.
Through investigation, officers learned that a 69 year old Chino Valley resident was traveling south-bound in a 2000 Subaru Forester on SR 89 when he ran the red light at the intersection of SR 89 A. The driver struck the driver’s side of a 46 year old Prescott Valley resident, driving a 2018 Honda CRV, who was traveling east-bound across SR 89.
The driver of the CRV complained of neck and back pain and was transported to Yavapai Regional Medical Center-West Campus for further treatment. Both vehicles sustained substantial damage and were towed from the scene. The roadway was closed for about one hour in both directions while emergency personnel could render aid and members of the Prescott Police Department could properly investigate the collision.
The driver of the Subaru did not exhibit any signs of impairment and was cited for a red light violation.
