On November 11, 2016 at approx. 7:05 pm Chino Valley Police responded to a report of a rollover collision in the 2300 block of Maricopa St in Chino Valley. Upon arrival it was learned only 1 vehicle was involved and the vehicle was only occupied by the driver, 50 year old Chino Valley resident William Gasho.
Investigation indicates Mr. Gasho was traveling south on Maricopa St above the posted 25 mph speed limit when he lost control of his vehicle. Mr. Gasho’s vehicle rolled over and came to rest on its roof, but not before striking a trash can and a power pole.
The power pole was severed and fell over, which resulted in a power outage to several homes in the area. Mr. Gasho refused medical care at the scene and was arrested for DUI. The 2300 block of Maricopa St was closed for more than 5 hours as APS worked to make the area safe and restore power to those affected.
At this time Mr. Gasho has been charged with driving under the influence. Additional charges are pending after review by Town of Chino Valley Prosecutors Office.
The Chino Valley Police Department would like to thank the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, and the Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority for all their help and assistance with this incident.
