Bill's Newscast: PV Votes on Final Budget

28 June 2018
Budgets are finalizing this time of year.

Jerome declares Stage 2 water restrictions

Due to the continued dry conditions, the Town of Jerome is in Stage 2 water restrictions.  This means outdoor water use is restricted to the hours between 6 pm and six am. Watering days are also restricted.  Properties with even number addresses may only irrigate on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.  Irrigation days for properties with odd numbered addresses are Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.  No irrigation is allowed on Mondays, except by the Town.  Vehicle washing or watering down of sidewalks, decks, parking areas, patios or other similar surfaces is restricted.  Town of Jerome officials are hopeful once monsoons begin, restrictions can be reduced.  In the meantime, residents and visitors are asked to do all they can to conserve water.

PV to vote on final budget

The Town of Prescott Valley’s Fiscal Year 2019 Budget process is about to come to an end.  During its meeting at 5:30 tonight, the Prescott Valley Town Council will hold a public hearing on the budget before considering final adoption.  According to Management Services Director Bill Kauppi, on May 2nd and 3rd, Council met in study sessions with Town Department Directors to consider a Tentative Budget.  There were no recommendations made and tentative approval was given on May 24th.  The Fiscal Year 2019 Budget totals more than 100 million dollars, up from the current year’s amount of nearly 94 million dollars.  Final adoption is the last step in the budget process.  The Town Council meeting will be held in the Library Auditorium on Civic Circle.
