Area School District Boards will be doing some reorganizing for the New Year.
As part of its meeting at 5 tonight, the Prescott Unified School Board will consider electing a President and Vice-President, the Humboldt Unified School Board will do the same during its meeting at 6:30 and the Chino Valley Unified School Board will hold its organizational meeting at 6. John Mackin is the current Prescott Board President and Tina Seeley is the Vice-President. Richard Adler is the Humboldt President and Suzie Roth is the Vice-President while Penny Hubble is the Chino Valley Board President and Cyndi Thomas is the Vice-President. The Prescott and Humboldt Boards will also establish the day and time for Governing Board meetings. The Prescott Board meeting will be held in the District Office Board Room on East Gurley Street, the Humboldt Board meeting is at Granville Elementary School on Stover Drive and the Chino Valley Board meeting will be held in the District Board Room on Center Street.
The Prescott City Council meets at 3 this afternoon to consider items related to an airport runway rehabilitation project.
This project was approved by Council last June, in addition to a 6 million dollar grant for this project. A final change order in the amount of 420 thousand dollars must be submitted to the Federal Aviation Administration. This amount includes omitted funds for construction administration services as well as additional funds needed to increase the contract amount for Fann Contracting by more than 183 thousand dollars. Council will also consider a 152 thousand, 500 dollar ADOT matching grant for this project during its meeting, which will be held at City Hall on South Cortez Street.
