Community Cleanup in Black Canyon City

Yavapai County residents can get rid of some unwanted items at no charge.   The County Board of Supervisors and the Public Works Department are hosting a Community Cleanup in Black Canyon City.  It’s open to all residents at no charge today, Friday and Saturday from 8 am to 4 pm.  Items that will be accepted include household appliances, bagged trash, auto batteries, unmounted tires, furniture and yard trimmings.  Items that won’t be accepted include loose trash, liquids, hazardous materials, cars and dead animals.  This program is for residential use and commercial loads won’t be accepted.  The Board of Supervisors is reminding residents now is the time to create defensible space around their homes.  Cut away vegetation 5 to 30 feet from all structures.  Remove all debris and dead vegetation from roofs, decks and ground around your home.  All yard trimmings will be accepted at the Community Cleanup.

Drivers in the area can expect to see flaggers in the roadway directing traffic.  This work is expected to take 2 days to complete.
