Roughrider Defense Shines in 3rd Shutout of the Year

The Roughrider soccer team scores another victory over Paradise Valley Community College.

The Roughrider soccer team scored four goals in each half on Saturday afternoon in an 8-0 victory over Paradise Valley Community College in Paradise Valley. The Pumas fall to 3-10-0 on the season while the Riders improve to 12-1-1 on the year and 11-1-1 in the ACCAC race.

The shutout was the third blanking of the year for the Roughrider defense. It was a combined effort in goal with Justin Motzkus playing 45 minutes with no saves and Spencer Coffin playing 45 minutes with 2 saves.

Yavapai has a busy week ahead as they travel to Tucson to play league leader Pima Community College on Tuesday, October 4thbeginning at 4:30 PM. YC returns home on Thursday, October 6th as they host Phoenix College at Ken Lindley Field in Prescott with kickoff slated for 6:00 PM. On Saturday,  October 8th, the Green and Gold play at South Mountain Community College beginning at 12:00 PM.
