Roughrider Soccer Team Snap Winning Streak

Roughriders drop a match to South Mountain Community College.

The Roughrider soccer team had their 14-game winning streak snapped Saturday afternoon in a 2-1 defeat to South Mountain Community College in Phoenix. Yavapai drops to 14-2-0 on the season and 13-2-0 in conference action. South Mountain improves to 4-10-0 on the year. The Roughriders are now 56-1 all-time against the Cougars.

Yavapai will be at home for the next two league matches beginning on Thursday, October 13th as the entertain the Geckos from Gateway Community College. The Roughriders beat the Geckos in their first meeting of the year in Phoenix, 5-0. The match will take place at Mountain Valley Park in Prescott Valley at 6:00 PM.

On Saturday, October 15th, YC hosts Mesa Community College at Ken Lindley Field in Prescott. The Riders won the first meeting 2-1. Saturday’s match will begin at 6:00 PM.
