What Happend Last Week In The World of Sports

NORTHERN ARIZONA SUNS

The Northern Arizona Suns just can’t lose at home! The team picked up another victory on Saturday against the Reno Bighorns 130-106 and remain un-beaten at home so far this year. The NAZ Suns, who have won four straight games, are back on the court Wednesday against the Grand Valley Vipers with a 6:30pm tip-off at the Prescott Valley Event Center.

PRESCOTT BADGERS

The Prescott Badgers men’s basketball team had a fantastic first week picking up 8 wins in their first nine games. Team is back on the court tonight against Cactus in Glendale. Tip-off is 7pm.

The Women’s Basketball team picked up a win against Apache Junction on Tuesday before dropping a game to the Moon Valley Rockets in Phoenix on Thursday. Badgers hit the court tonight in Glendale against Cactus. Tip-off is 7pm.

The Prescott Badgers wrestling team lost their match against multi-Coconino and Show Low on Wednesday 42-36. Colton Tomitz got a pin at 1:13, Andrew Salberg picked up a pin at 1:32 and John Dwyer got a pin at 1:82. Coach Payne believes the team will be fine if they stick to the basics. Next matchup is Wednesday at 7pm in Page, Arizona

BRADSHAW MOUNTAIN BEARS

It’s been a rough start to the season for the Bradshaw Mountain Bears Men’s Basketball team as the squad have dropped their first seven games. They try to right the ship against Coconino tonight at 7pm in Flagstaff.

Meanwhile the women’s team picked up a 60-44 win against Marcos De Niza on Tuesday before dropping two straight games against Flagstaff. Bears are back on the court tonight against Coconino in Flagstaff with tip-off at 5:30 pm.

The Bradshaw Bears wrestling team had one of their best showings in years at the Camp Verde Tournament as the team came in fifth and included 9 places, 5 medal winners and two tournament individual champions. Jacob Kidd remains undefeated and was the first champion in a long time at Camp Verde.

CHINO VALLEY COUGARS

The Chino Valley Cougars Men’s basketball team picked up a 54-46 win on Saturday against Needles in California. Cougars are back in the state for a matchup against Northland Prep Academy on Thursday with tip-off at 7pm in Flagstaff.

The Chino Valley Cougars Women’s team picked up the victory against Grand Canyon on the road Saturday to break a three-game losing streak to begin the season. Cougars are in Flagstaff on Wednesday for a game against Northland Prep Academy. Tip-off is 6pm.

ARIZONA CARDINALS

The Arizona Cardinals kept their playoff hopes alive on Sunday afternoon beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-23. The team moves to 5-6-1 overall still trailing the division leading Seahawks. If the team wants a shot at the playoffs, they must continue to win. Cardinals are in Miami for a match with the Dolphins next Sunday at 10AM Arizona time.

PHOENIX SUNS

The Phoenix Suns dropped their game against the Golden State Warriors on Saturday 138-109 in Oakland. The loss drops the team to 6-14 overall and sit 14th in the Western Conference standings. The team is in Salt Lake City Utah for a game against the Jazz on Tuesday December 6th at 7pm.

ARIZONA COYOTES

The Arizona Coyotes dropped their home game against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday in a shootout 3-2. The loss drops the team to 8-11-4 which is good for 7th in the pacific division. The two teams are back at it tonight in Columbus. The puck drops at 5pm.
